Happy Mother’s day

My Mum is a person

It is difficult looking after her

She doesn’t know half the time

It is mentally tiring

emotionally challenging

relentless

but

this is where she belongs

up late at night

in the morning

in the afternoon

24 7

making sure she is ok on her feet

making sure she knows she is loved

making sure she knows who we are

but when she makes us smile

but when she brights up the room

but when she makes us laugh

and when I can see my Mum

at times

actually see her personality

her strength

that is what gives me a boost
