What a documentary/podcast/video this is.
There is one special line in here that I did qoute in my notes or paraphrased it at the very least – so I may do my best here to include said line.
As it would appear, this is very much about one of the most underrated Liverpool bands ever – The Teardrop Explodes.
Whether you are having a cup of tea or coffee or whatever, this is an enjoyable video to watch or listen to.
The video gives a wider perspective on Liverpool’s music scene from over the years, and there is interesting lines about Liverpool or references to Echo & The Bunnymen, among other top bands too etc.
“Liverpool it’s got this Celto Viking outsiderness that the Anglo Saxon does not control.”
‘You go down the East Lanks Road / I don’t know 28 miles to around Manchester, and the Anglo Saxon rules once more’
“It’s not a sensible place, it lives inside itself.”
I may or may not have done a good job on qouting that, or capturing it or paraphrasing it but I got to say I absolutely love that line and for me it absolutely does feel very fitting.
