SkyFF Half Season Experiment (Friday/Weekend Post)

170 points for a fresh new looking team

Liverpool generally have good fixtures (not easy per se but reasonable/a side on a high and pushing for the title), whereas Arsenal and Manchester City face a number of difficult away matches (still worth having a player or two from said teams).

Both Liverpool and Arsenal have the best defences in the league in 2023/24 in terms of goals conceded – 28 goals and 24 conceded in 30 league matches respectively (at the time of writing on 05/04/24).

Whatsmore, having a core of a side that plays for the top 3 (in a title race) could be optimal.

Núnez scored another big opening goal/potentially important goal for Liverpool (the Uruguay international has scored opening goals or winning goals against the likes of Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Burnley and Newcastle United this season), Mac Allister got yet another attacking return (and how) and the impressive (and in form) Joe Gomez (able to play anywhere across the defence hence argubly increasing his chances of getting increased minutes) completed 71 passes out of a possible 79 to get Passes Tier 2 (SofaScore).

Cole Palmer scored a hat-trick (first in the Premier League).

Gabriel picked up 16 points, including Passes Tier 1 against Luton Town (2 clean sheets in the gameweek).

with a modest 8 points, but all points add up and save points are a viable way to get tick along.

Bradley ended up on positive points, as his own goal was followed up by Passes Tier 1.

Luis Diaz was able to muster up an assist in contribute to Liverpool’s 3-1 win Sheffield United.

Son Heung-min scored against Luton Town (2-1) but did not get on the score sheet against West Ham United (away), Salah got Shots Tier 1 despite blanking against Sheffield United.

Erling Haaland was seemingly rested against Aston Villa (4-1), and may be restored to Manchester City’s starting eleven against Crystal Palace (still the league’s top goal scorer), which could be useful as it is looking tricky to get to Phil Foden at present.

Manchester City and Arsenal have potential tricky fixtures this weekend – away at Crystal Palace (seemingly playing with a back 3) and Brighton respectively.

With this in mind Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool could offer a source for points this weekend.

This SkyFF side looks set to go again, and may manage itself to an extent in the coming weeks (aside from picking captains as a way of effectively acting as transfers).

This post was produced partly memory and partly with the use of Sky Sports Fantasy Football, FBref and SofaScore.

Feel free to see previous posts for picks (or ideas) for gameweeks to come including DGW34.
