Let Music Save Your Life

Had it up to here, burnout or fed up.

Possibly griefing or worried or sad.

Relationship problems or anything else.

Well, there is a song, band or artist for so many different problems, difficulties and situations.

Find an hour a day to listen to some music on.

You can be skint and still have songs to give you joy, even it is just for 5 minutes.

Also, music can be a healer.

The Coral got me through last week, as well as lots of snow on 30 minute walks.

The Coral and other bands help me mourn and cheer up when feeling low by listening to their modern mellow songs.

Coral Island brought me about some calmness.

Bill-Ryder Jones got me emotional and thinking.

Love and The Beatles’ ‘In My Life’ made me think of those who passed away.

The Bees made me think of gigs back in the day.

It feels like loved ones and friends live on through songs.

The Doors made me feel happy in the summer.

The Zutons got me hyped.

The Teardrop Explodes reminded me of old Liverpool bands from the 80s and onwards – other than the Fab Four.

And of glorious days where we felt euphoria.

The Farm gave the blues a song to sing.

Psychedelic songs are played in winter spring and summer.

Echo & The Bunnymen took me back to Benicassim (not literally).

Cast & The La’s picked up my mood.

Manchester gave us The Stone Roses, Elbow & Doves (and many more).

The Midlands gave us The Specials.

Other parts of the UK gave us The Futureheads, The Animals, Arctic Monkeys.

Wales gave us Super Furry Animals & The manics.

London gave us The Clash, The Rolling Stones & The Kinks.

Fast tempo music gets me off my feet, to do some house work and feel weirdly happy (catchy songs can do that).

80s music takes us back, new bands take everyone forward.

Feeling socially awkward, then put Caroline Rose or Tame Impala on.

The Polyphonic Spree came to me, so they get a mention too.

Feeling nostalgic, then put Oasis, Blur or Supergrass on.

Feeling pensive, then put PJ Harvey on.

Feeling wound up, then put IDLES on.

Feeling upbeat, then put The Beatles on.

Want your socks blown off, then put Wins Lips on.

Let music pick you up after a Hard Day’s Night
