How I Deal With Stress/Pressure – With A Tiny Bit of Comedy – Laugh Or Cry

I control what I can control.

I think pressure can be a good or bad thing – it generally is not nice obviously – but it can be embraced to a point (in my opinion).

I think back to things that I have achieved before – even against all odds – sometimes writing things down helps (or typing in my notes).

Start the day positively – do some yoga (the poses I learned years ago).

Embracing a proactive approach – even if it is just checking my emails for a minute or something like that – starting the day or week in a positive way can set the tone for said day or week.

Do what I need to do day to day – it is a relief to get things ticked off – and get things done.

Be sound to people – I try to be!

Reflect and be honest with myself – I am not too proud to change my mind or reconsider something if needs be (I do miss FPL, sort of).

Do things – anything – hoovering at times.

Walking (when possible).

Writing things down – like to do lists.

Do 10,000 steps a day minimum if/when possible – even by doing a little indoors workout at night – or going up the stairs a few times to get the steps up or that sort of thing!

Read books (when focused or in the right frame of mind) – or text books – I mean let me know if you want to me to tell you about intrinsic or extrinsic motivation or anything like that.

Learn new things or skills by watching YouTube videos in the evening times – yeah I don’t have a life – fascinatingly so.

Avoid alcohol for example I do not drink in the house – I live like a monk now – not having a social life has it’s plus points I suppose.

Have a tea or something – it is better than going out until 4 am – definitely not my thing that.

Listen to music – YouTube is an outlet for example – Tame Impala does the trick.

I do not bet (no judgement).

I do not smoke (no judgement).

Read articles in the evening time.

I talk to friends – all 6 of them – actually joking (I appreciate having sound people to talk to).

Eat some chocolate (if/when possible) as it is good for stress in moderation (or dealing with stress) – apparently! This is not optimal but I am not an actual monk – it’s ok I can still eat a bit I’m not applying to be on love island am I.

I am not giving out advice here by the way, make sure you do not have any allergies or whatever – don’t eat 9 bars of chocolate in one night or whatever – to all 8 people who read this.

Recap on my Spanish using DuoLingo for the 1000th time since 2017 or whatever – I don’t know – getting my Spanish fix helps.

Have some perspective – this is not where I want to be in terms of where my life is at but I appreciate that I have a roof under my head – things are doable within reason when you have strong foundations.
