(F)PL (DGW23) / SKYFF (GW28) SOC LE TIGRE VERSION

| Introduction/Notes/Factors To Consider/Other |

Ok, here’s the thing, I was going to make this more of a ‘sensible’ post.

And it sorta was.

Kinda is (to a point).

And then was like.

Nah (ish).

So it’s time to be decisive, and the time has arrived, and that’s why it’s coming to life again.

Besides, my USP is being ‘different’, so whatever.

I’ll drop the tune bit here.

Likin’ how frantic this tune is

So, I’m about to make my transfers, after considering various avenues.

And after listening to different postcasts, spaces etc.

The earlier I get all of this done the better.

So, I’ll keep going with the flow.

Well, you know you’re in the zone, it’s all a bit experimental anyway.

It’s all about enjoyment, joy & pleasure here.

So if it feels good, then do it.

I mean, if you wanna get wild, then do it.

On that note then.

Here’s my team (triple Arsenal attack):-

I’ve gone with this side then (in comes Ederson, Saka, Nketiah into the XI). I’ve put Bueno sub 2 ahead of Cancelo in case City get him back over night or something (yes, that’s a joke, I didn’t say it was a good one)

Very few players have more league goals than Buyako Saka this campaign, and he has been involved in 15 goals in the league this season (in FPL, at the time of writing on 10/02/23)

● Bukayo Saka is 2nd for assists (8, in FPL) in the Premier League in 2022/23

I am a huge fan of his (giving him lots of love here, seems like a top lad too), think he is often involved in matches and can put teams on the back foot really well (he is technically gifted, a fantastic dribbler, gets in behind defences well at times, cuts in on his left brilliantly and generally tends to have different avenues to points).

Eddie Nketiah is in partly on form (he’s looking sharp) – 2 goals in his previous home match against Manchester United – and also because he is quite in terms of effective ownership I think (or loads of people have him on Twitter!).

I think Arsenal offer decent value, especially with how Martin Ødegaard is influencing their free flowing attack, the Norwegian rides high for big chances created too.

I’ll put that there (that’s sound that)
Current set up here. El plan is to not make a transfer this weekend/this GW (naturally I want to keep them for as long as possible/utilise them as well as possible)

● DGW23 sees both Arsenal and Manchester play twice.

● Arsenal boost a home strong record (8 wins from 9 at home in the Premier League in 2022/23)

● Attacking DGW23 whilst being able to put a team out for DGW25 (Newcastle United, Manchester United & Brighton are not scheduled to be involved in DGW25) is the balancing act

| Fixtures |

| 11/02/23 | 12:30 (GMT) | The London Stadium | West Ham United Vs Chelsea | London’s Calling (Yeah, It Took Me Ages To Think of That), West Ham’s Better Ish Home Form & Chelsea’s 106 Attacking Options (Not Literally…Yet…Wait Until The Super League Comes In) |

For the record, I am not in favour of the Super League, I just throw in these titles stream of consciousness style.

West Ham (17th) normally do alright against Chelsea I think, they’ve picked up one or two better results recently (top analisis, wrote that en español), including a draw against Newcastle United and a home win against Everton (2-0).

Chelsea have gotten a few clean sheets in recent weeks, they’ll concede now that I’ve said that obviously (or not because they’re quietly picking up a fair few clean sheets, I don’t know mate).

I really don’t know what to say about this fixture, West Ham have seemingly set up differently in recent weeks, but they could change it up again with the attacking options that they have at their disposal with the likes of Ings, Antonio, Bowen etc.

That lad who gets in the Brazil squad, what’s his name (this is the full stream of consciousness experience here) Paqueta is looking pretty decent to be fair (talking more from a general football sense there really).

| 11/02/23 | 15:00 (GMT) | The Emirates | Arsenal Vs Brentford | Arsenal’s Excellent Home Form, Their Matrix Footy & Brentford’s Struggles Away (Ish) |

● Arsenal have won 8 of their 9 Premier League home matches in 2022/23 (written on 09/02/23)

● Arsenal are the 2nd top scoring team at home in the Premier League in 2022/23

● Only 5 teams have scored more goals than Brentford (at the time of writing, on 10/02/23)

● Brentford have picked up twice the amount of points at home than away from home (it could be argued that that is more to do with their strong home form)

Keepin’ it flowin’

| 11/02/23 | 15:00 (GMT) | Selhurst Park | Crystal Palace Vs Brighton | Brighton March On |

● Only Wolves (9) & Southampton (9) have scored fewer goals at home in the Premier League in 2022/23

Brighton are boss, analysis complete (well they’re in decent form for sure).

| 11/02/23 | 15:00 (GMT) | Craven Cottage | Fulham Vs Nottingham Forest | Fulham’s Home Comforts & Forest’s Away Day Struggles |

Fulham are currently 8th, despite a slight dip in goals scored in recent weeks, are currently the league’s 8th top scoring side at home (it’s almost as if there’s a correlation between goals scored and league positions sometimes eh).

Anyway, think that’s right.

Mitro still rides high for goals, shots, shots on target & all that jazz.

Nottingham Forest have poor away form, with just 1 win away from in the Premier League in 2022/23 & have conceded a fair few away too (23).

So that’s why Andreas is sub 1, well I’ve got him in SkyFF, sometimes you can hedge your bets a bit.

Andreas get me an assist if I need an autosub, blank if I don’t need one, you know the drill mate.

| 11/02/23 | 15:00 (GMT) | The King Power Stadium | Leicester City Vs Spurs | Leicester’s Unpredictability, Scoring 2 Or More Or Despair & Spurs’/Kane’s Record Against Leicester |

Leicester City are boosted by having James Maddison back, seemingly Leicester pick up better results when he is fit/available.

● Leicester City have scored 2 goals or more in 11 Premier League matches in 2022/23 (or something like that)

Spurs have picked up a few wins in all comps recently, including beating Manchester City (1-0) in DGW22.

Despite Spurs’ lack of free flowing football, they are currently the league’s 3rd highest scoring side (41).

Well, Kane loves scoring against Leicester doesn’t he.

| 11/02/23 | 15:00 (GMT) | St.Marys | Southampton Vs Wolves | Saints’ Curious Form, Southampton’s Home Advantage & Wolves’ Record Against Southampton (?) |

Saints are on a terrible run, despite some cup joy and winning against Everton (1-2) the other week.

Wolves have picked up a couple noticeable wins since their change of manager in Julian Lopetegui, 2 in the league this calendar year (2023 in case you was wondering).

| 11/02/23 | 17:30 (GMT) | The Vitality Stadium | Bournemouth Vs Newcastle United | Bournemouth’s Goal Scoring Problems & Newcastle United’s Attacks In Transition (?) |

Howe am I going to write this without putting in an Eddie pun (awful that I know, I’ll keep it in anyway, well someone may like it).

Newcastle still have the best defence in the league.

Newcastle United have not scored quite as freely recently but are still very much right up there, and have cemented a place in the League Cup final.

Bournemouth have been boosted by the return of Neto in goal in recent weeks; O’Neil’s side have conceded significantly less goals when the affortmentioned ‘portero’ (goalkeeper) plays (just put that bit in for a laugh really).

| 12/02/23 | 14:00 (GMT) | Elland Road | Leeds United Vs Manchester United | Two Tribes Go To War Again (Flippin’ Eck They’re Playing Again Are They), Leeds New Caretaker Manager Bounce & A United Without Casemiro |

Very few sides have conceded more goals than Leeds this campaign, but the former first division title winners have picked up a respectful result (2-2) at Old Trafford in midweek (Manchester United boast an impressive goal scoring record against Leeds in recent seasons).

| 12/02/23 | 16:30 (GMT) | The Etihad | Manchester United Vs Aston Villa | Manchester City’s Scoring Habits Against Villa, A Villa-ified Side & Home/Away Form|

City bagged 3 goals at home against Villa in GW38 in 2021/22, and have definitely helped themselves to numerous goals against Villa over the years, as well as being the highest scoring team in the league in 2022/23 (Villa may possibly have something up their sleave with Emery in charge, don’t ask me lad).

| 13/02/23 | 20:00 (GMT) | Anfield | Liverpool Vs Everton | Liverpool’s Home Form, Everton’s Dyche Effort, Everton’s Arsenal Win Boost |

Liverpool are currently a shadow of their former selves (as in the side that has won every first tier trophy under Jurgen Klopp), but they do face an Everton side that have a poor away record.

Only Bournemouth (5), Leeds United (6), Wolves (6), West Ham United (6) & Nottingham Forest (6) have picked up fewer points than Everton (7) away from home in 2022/23.

Having said that Liverpool are currently performing so poorly, so Everton will rightly fancy their chances of getting at Liverpool after a huge win against league leaders Arsenal.

● Liverpool are joint 6th/7th for most points (21) taken at home in the Premier League in 2022/23 (something like that, we’re miles off it)

That is by no means anything special but it does indicate that Liverpool are much better at home than away from home in 2022/23.

Liverpool continue to have problems in midfield and in defence, although they are expecting Van Dijk, Jota, Firmino & Diaz (possibly back in March) to be back relatively soon.

It’s a derby, I think all bets are off here (so to speak).

Just throwin’ this in here (it helps me write/edit in a funny sorta way, plus I think it keeps the vibe goin’)

| 25/02/23 | 19:30 (GMT) | Emirates | Arsenal Vs Manchester City | A Title Showdown, Arsenal’s Home Form & Manchester City’s Away Form |

I don’t know what the scores from the weekend at this point because I’m not Mystic Meg lad but let’s see what I can come up with here.

● 1st Vs 2nd (you enter the zone for information like that I’m tellin’ ya)

● 2nd top scoring team Vs 1st top scoring team (in the Premier League, to clarify)

● 2nd for xG Vs 1st for xG (I think, hang on, probably)

Here are lad get on this.

Arsenal’s xG is 38.2 & Manchester City’s is 42.7 (according to FBREF)

I’ll drop this here

| Overview/El Plan/Chip Strategy/Being Flexible|

I’m leaving it open and I’m being flexible.

Arsenal are top of the league, playing free flowing football, playing with intensity and have 2 DGWs (DGW23 & DGW25), so it makes a ton of sense to triple up on them.

I’m looking ahead to DGW25, DGW27 (Brighton, Palace, Brentford & Southampton play twice) & GW29 in particular.

In this game getting the balance between the now and GWs coming up is a balance act.

I’m a position where I can attack those GWs one way or another, with the free hit in my back pocket.

I’ve got the wildcard and bench boost too.

Things can quickly change week to week in the Premier League, let alone month to month, so I think being flexible in some ways is the best plan (as well an actual plan too, ideally).

| Recap |

● DGW23 (Arsenal & Manchester City)

● DGW25 with blanks (for Newcastle United, Manchester United & Brighton)

● Arsenal have 2 DGWs (DGW23 & DGW25)

| Conclusion |

Glad to have that sorted, well you know I’m a casual, a hardcore casual.

Hopefully this has been of interest and/or was/is useful.

It’s handy to get it done as early as possible, but yet being able to edit/put it out on the Friday to have been able to taken team news from the press conferences (Friday afternoons).

And that’s a wrap

Think the numbers are on the money, having checked them loads! Ok, it’s getting posted now.
