It’s rebellion vs pragmatism

They go head to head every day

Let the match begin

It takes places in my mind on a daily basis

Tryna’ get somewhere

And paving the way

Need something to write

Want something to say

Do I play the game

Or go my own way

Is this world really just about winning or losing, success or failure, or is there more nuance to it

Can you stand against things and still win

Or is it better to turn idealism into pragmatism

That is it better being pragmatic than idealistic

Or is that getting on the front foot is the real way to win

It’s rebellion against pragmatism

It seems to me that a bit ot both works a treat

In order to achieve quite the feat

From cold days in January walking down the street

To warmer nights indoors for 30 minutes at least

Can rebels win

Or is rebellin’ winning

Can pragmatics lose

Or is being pragmatic a modern way of losing

I think I may just be better off doin’ what I want

It’s 2023 & you can do anything in this internet age

They’ll be someway of making a wage

It’s better than feeling rage

On a social media app

But I’ll be pragmatic for now

But I don’t want to burn any bridges

I know how this game works

Win, lose or draw

I know that achieving something can give me the satisfaction that I require

I’m not throwin’ away my controller just yet

Especially as I’m about to reach the next level
