ZONERISM ON TWITTER (If You Still Use It, Mesin) / Updates (Stream of Consciousnes)

Once again, doing this for the visuals really.

Ok, really quick fire here.

So.

All, 8 I think, World Cup posts are up.

I’ve tidied them up a bit.

But glad to get them out.

What a week.

Loads of researching, writing, contributing to Fantasy Football Scout etc.

Just another week really!

Yes.

I’m being tongue in cheek there.

I may update some of the posts a little bit more, I’ll see, but I’m mainly happy with them.

In terms of getting that quick fire info, team news, stating key players etc.

I have added a few tables too.

Also, I’m keeping an eye on the underlying numbers side of things, as the tournament progresses.

As well as doing my ‘eye test’ thing.

Anyway.

I wanted to write a bit about the off the field side of things, I mainly want to focus on the football sides of things, but I feel some responsibility to be very conscious of what is going on politically/socially.

So, I added the rainbow laces flags/emojis to the posts.

This is a way of trying to show support to LGBT.

I have been listening to podcasts about what is happening in Qatar, and I wanted to acknowledge what is going on (to some extent).

I am glad most (if not all) captains/players are set to wear one love armbands in an act of support.

Like I wrote, football is very diverse, thankfully.

It can take a stand.

This tournament is underway, I don’t think an act of ,,not watching it really achieves anything, but I completely respect people’s choices.

Football fans want to watch football, we didn’t make these decisions.

Whatsmore, I was keen to involve culture and languages in the previews (to some extent).

For me these tournaments are about that, as much as the football itself.

It allowed me to get a bit creative really.

I am trying to up my game, in an aesthetics sense.

The my eleven thing was a bit of an experiment, and for the fun of it, as well as for the visuals.

Also, to put a bit of a team together (in a sense, no budget was involved, necessarily).

To highlight some players, and to compliment the team news (sorta) and key players parts in the previews.

Some parts where written earlier on in the week, so some teams news broke later on in the week.

Benzema’s injury, in particular, was one that broke relatively late I think.

So what a week.

Putting together all this (plus my contribution for Fantasy Football Scout) has been demanding, but it’s not working down the mines (I know).

It is brilliant to have so much football on, and seeing teams we don’t necessarily always get to see.

The previews were written partly off memory (or off the top of my head), but they were also done through a huge amount of research (I usually very keen to keep on top of as much information as humanly possible).

Also, they helped me to self-compile numerous statistics, or to add several bits of information in my posts.

The following websites I want to reference, and to give a lot of love to for helping me provide the aforementioned content:-

Transfermarkt

FBREF

Fantasy Football Scout

ESPN

BBC Sport

FourFourTwo (magazine)

Guardian Sport

The Anfield Wrap

Plus, other things too.

I want to give credit to the FPL community too, for various bits I’ve read or heard too.

I’ll wrap it up here then.
