Ok, I’ll get this out in the next half an hour or so (or longer!), it’s a bit quick fire again.
Letting it flow.
It’s another non structured one (pretty much).
Time to get stuck in then.
Liverpool beat Spurs (1-2), win away from home for the first time in the league in 2022/23 & gain 3 points on Spurs, Chelsea (yeah they got beat, spoiler alert, you probably know mate) & Manchester United.
Salah gets his 3rd double figure haul of the season/biggest return (points wise that is) in a single *** game *** this season (in FPL), doubles his goals scored away from home in the league (4) this campaign & scores his 5th/6th league goals of the season (7 goals scored in the Champions League).
Kane scores again (despite blanking in GW14 away at Bournemouth), netting his 11th league goal of the season (2 assists, may include ‘FPL/fantasy football’ asssists).
Liverpool start really well, Darwin (another attacking return, to add to several that the Uruguayan has added in recent weeks in all comps) continues to be a direct threat (as in runs in behind, not in an ale house team way, he’s looking sharper), and links up well with Salah.
Liverpool remain 2nd in the league for 2nd big chances created (39).
Konate makes his 4th appearance (in all competitions) this season & offers Liverpool a boost when available for selection.
Salah has 3 shots on goal (2 goals scored).
Spurs are now the 4th highest scoring team in the league (Newcastle are now 3rd in that sense, I think that pretty much correlates with their xG too, according to FBREF/my research).
Spurs lose a second consecutive home match in the league (5 wins at home from 7 matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium).
Son seemingly remains out (just the 3 league goals scored from the South Korean international this season, but he appears to still have a chance of being available for the World Cup).
Kulusevski (slips off the tongue that, it does when I say it mate) gets 20 odd minutes ish, and looked pretty decent (I thought anyway).
Spurs put pressure on the Liverpool goal at times (especially second half) but Liverpool hang on to win.
Richarlinson (hasn’t featured in the league for several GWs) was not involved in the match day squad again but has been named in Brazil’s World Cup squad (or is it one of those 150 man squads nations are naming these days, mesin, I’ll double check that in a bit lad – yeah looks like it is the official one)
Next game then.
There was loads on at 2 pm wasn’t there.
It was a boss Sunday that I thought, I’m not calling it super though (yeah see what I did there, don’t even know what to make of that, I’ll keep it in)
Let’s say I’ll go Newcastle now (it was at Southampton, I know), Howe’s side won 1-4 (ya probably know), but anyway.
Newcastle are 4th for big chances created (36) in the Premier League this season (nice one Sofascore, boss app that lad), and score 3 or more in another league match this season (3rd in the league position wise, 3rd highest team goal scoring wise).
4 was the key number for them, with 4 different scorers being on the scoresheet, and…what else was to do with 4…I don’t know…there’s probably something…in my subconcious stats wise I can say.
Anyway, Newcastle concede late on (I had my Tripper clean sheet banked before hand in FPL, captained Tripper in SkyFF so got an assist there, glass half full), but remain the joint 1st (with Arsenal, 11 goals conceded) for least goals conceded in the league this season.
What an assist that was by Trippier by the way.
Wilson goes off at half time, they’ll have to give him about 10 lemon tea drinks this week or something, providing that he has no allergies or whatever (I don’t know mate, do I look like a Sports Scientist)
Almirón scores again, grass is green.
He’s cutting in on his left very nicely (just 2 goal attempts but another goal for the Paraguayan nevertheless).
Bruno makes a run from deep to add a 4th for Newcastle, Saint-Maximin came on to get the assist, and someone else scored (Wood, that’s who, lovely goal that to be fair).
Next game then.
Villa beat United (3-1), flippin’ eck they’re seemingly night & day *** home *** & away form wise aren’t they, Emery gets his first win as Villa manager.
The former Europa League winner beats United again, and looks set to play a 4-2-3 -1 (maybe it’s a bit 4-4-2 at times, footy is fluid mate, wonder what the average positions suggest).
I’ve looked at the heat maps a bit, and seen the highlights, but anyway.
Villa start quick again (they’re looking like a threat, they’re got some quite decent players (technically gifted)/with pace in behind for sure at home at least anyway, in a another home match (they played well against Chelsea at home too, despite the defeat)
Digne scores an amazing free kick (Martinez went far up the pitch to tell him some stuff it looked like), Bailey shines again and Ramsey scores (at both ends ish or is it was Shaw’s goal, he loves that running from deep goal doesn’t he to his credit, Ramsey that is).
United are defeated in the league for the first time in a little while in fairness (for the first time since GW9), but once again experience a defeat when conceding 3 or more away from home (a bit of a pattern this calender year, defeats at Brighton, Brentford & City also spring to mind, but admittedly some of those were under a different manager/some players didn’t feature in those).
Ok, I’ll power through the rest of the games now to see me home (via showing my teams and all that), or go through some bits re scorers, performances, form etc.
Keeping it flowing aren’t I.
West Ham lose at home in the league (and in all comps) for the first time in a bit of a while (first time since GW3, having won 3 consecutive home matches prior to GW15) and lose their 3rd match at home in the league in 2022/23 (not a massive amount of data to go off, but form can change either way quickly in football, I don’t know mate how long is a piece of string eh) while Palace bag another decent win thanks to a late winner from Olise.
Zaha appeared to be playing through the middle, gets a double figure haul & faces Forest next (2nd most conceded in the league this season).
0-1 to the Arsenal again, Arteta’s side outplay Chelsea at their gaff, and restrict Potter side to next to nothing chances and ultimately goals wise.
Leicester beat Everton (0-2) at Goodison Park – Maddison/Barnes shine again – Leicester go a 5th consecutive *** league *** match without conceding in open play (highest scoring team away from home in the league in 2022/23, albeit after 15 GWs).
Leeds win back to league matches (and how, coming back from being 3-1 down to win 4-3), and that feels like the first 4-3 in the Premier League in ages to me!)
Rodrigo (a mid in FPL seemingly playing through the middle/as a 9, he seems to pop up in different positions though and isn’t necessarily a player who can only play one position/stays in one place all game) scores his 7th league goal in 2022/23 (may well be on pens).
4 different scorers for Leeds (7 different scorers in the match) & Summerville scores in back to league matches.
Solanke scores again & 3 returns from Tavernier (in GW15, in FPL).
City beat Fulham 2-1, City win at home, grass is green.
Haaland scores again (and he played by the way), grass is green.
City remain the highest scoring team (at home) in the Premier League in 2022/23, grass is green (unless it’s fake or something, I don’t know but the team x wins/player y scores grass is green is very much being applied here).
(What am I writing here, don’t know, on to the next bits)
(I’ve double checked loads of parts now, think this is sound, can’t wait to post this)
(It’s nearly ready to post now)
(I’ll post this in 5 mins)
Andreas scores and looks to be on pens (if/when Mitro isn’t on the pitch).
It was a Desmond (2-2) between Forest & Brentford.
Brighton beat Wolves (2-3) at Molineux, back to back wins for De Zerbi (they’re playing some quick, tricky stuff under him, top analysis for ya there but they are though) a 3rd defeat at home for Wolves in the league in 2022/23.
There wasn’t an early game was there.
I’ll show my teams now.
Here.
(I’ll sorta the tune bit out, then go back to this bit, sound)
