(F)PL & Sky Sports Fantasy Football (Having A Saturday Deadline Is Handy This Week Actually, It Gives Me This Friday To Pull These Bits Together, I’ll Warrior On Here) GW13 Stream of Consciousness (Pretty Much, Basically It’s A Load of Notes I Write For Myself But Put Out In Public, Have A Read If You Want) – Count Five Version (A Bit of a Psychedelic Version This, Stay In The Zone, These Tunes Are Boss) { I Think This Is OK Now, Just Putting It Out, It May Be A Bit Imperfect } { I Think This Is OK Now, Just Putting It Out, It May Be A Bit Imperfect } [ May Be Edited Ever So Slightly ]

| Introduction |

Don’t make do any typos. Don’t make do any typos. Don’t make do any typos.

Got loads of boss psychedelic tunes on here, I needed to get into this space, physical/mental space that is.

I’m letting shuffle do it’s thing (more or less), going with the flow.

Yeah, that’s me talking writing to myself (before).

I did it that on purpose, for a laugh, sound.

I’ve technically made a ‘mistake’ now, so the ‘pressure’ is off.

But not really, coz’ I’m just some lad who plays fantasy football, writing in a very free style way (yet in a somewhat structured way).

I’m not a firefighter, or paramedic or whatever, I’m literally just writing about (fantasy) footy and picking some footballers.

OK.

On to the (fantasy) football bit then.

All that lark.

I’m getting this out in a minute, it’s doing my head in a bit (3 GWs in a week & all that jazz!), these songs will help though.

| Fixtures |

| 22/10/22 | 12:30 (GMT) | The City Ground (Is It Still Called That) | Nottingham Forest Vs Liverpool |

| Liverpool Are Improving, Scoring Threat & Forest’s Conceding Chances |

Firstly, bit of trivia here, this is the first league meeting between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool since the 1998/99 season (I know that off the top of my head, as ya do, I’ve been waiting years to use that one).

● Liverpool are the 4th highest scoring team in the Premier League in 2022/23

Liverpool keep having loads of chances (that’s not a stat, that’s ‘reality’).

| 22/10/22 | 15:00 (GMT) | Goodison Park | Everton Vs Crystal Palace |

| I Really Don’t Know What To Write Here But Everton’s Fixtures Get A Bit Kinder From Here On In – Well Until The World Cup Or Something I Don’t Know Mate, It’s Footy/The Premier League, Anything Can Happen (Sorta, Kinda Not) |

● Everton are unbeaten in the league *** at home *** since being defeated by Chelsea (0-1) in GW1

● Everton have an xGA at home of 6.7 (pretty high that, it looks like, going off this matrix data lark on FBRef)

| 22/10/22 | 15:00 (GMT) | The Etihad | Manchester City Vs Brighton |

| City Looking To Get Back To Winning Ways & Brighton Are No Mugs Are They |

▪︎ Manchester City are unbeaten at home in the Premier League in 2022/23 (yeah, just putting that in there, looks good doesn’t it)

What do statistics actually mean really, just numbers aren’t they, on that note…I’ll look at some data in a minute.

I mean, stats are sorta meaningful and meaningless all at the same time really.

They all matter and don’t matter.

Think it’s the pyschedelic music this, I’m high on it, I’m in the zone.

Mesin.

Statistics, data and information does help of course, I’m actually enjoying delving in to it all again, it is worth exploring really.

I’m enjoying football again.

Anyway, where was I, City Brighton.

● Manchester City are the league’s highest scoring team (33) in 2022/23 (bet ya gobsmacked by that one, yeah, that is sarcasm to clarify)

They are brilliant to be fair.

● Manchester City have scored 24 goals at home in the league in 2022/23

| 22/10/22 | 17:30 (GMT) | Stamford Bridge | Chelsea Vs Manchester United |

| Chelsea Are A Bit Unbeaten (Ish) & United Are Quitetly In Form (Something Has To Give, Or It’ll Be A Draw, I Don’t Know Mate) |

▪︎ Chelsea (recently) are unbeaten in the league (hang on, let me think there lad, I know yeah) since GW6

| 23/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Villa Park | Aston Villa Vs Brentford |

| Villa Are Gerrardless Now & Brentford’s Struggles To Score In Open Play (?) |

Aston Villa await their first league win since beating Southampton (1-0) in GW8 (yeah that’s right, actually it wasn’t really that long ago, but there we are).

Brentford are having a good campaign in their second season in the Premier League, and have taken 4 points from a possible 6 in their previous 2 league matches (0-0 & 2-0).

| 23/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Elland Road | Leeds United Vs Fulhan |

| Leeds Searching For A First League *** Win *** Since (Well, It’s Been Ages, Since The First Few Weeks or So of the Season or) & Fulham Continue To Play With Freedom (?) |

Fulham are currently 9th in the table, having beat Aston Villa 3-0 (was that match really yesterday, it was wasn’t it, absolutely it was yes).

Leeds continue to be winless in the league, despite plenty of attacking intent, but are arguably lacking that bit of ruthlessness in front of goal (up until this point at least anyway).

(I’ve left the zone for 5 or 10 minutes).

I’m back now.

● Only the top 3 have/Liverpool scored more goals than Fulham (19) in the Premier League this season (I know not every team has played the same amount of matches but don’t ruin my stat mate, mesin, Fulham are playing really good, exciting stuff though)

So more stats then.

■ Fulham have conceded 2 or more in 8 of their 11 league matches in 2022/23 (yeah that’s right, just double checked it anyway, honestly lad you wouldn’t believe how many stats I’ve got in my head)

Fulham have conceded less goals away from home than at home in the league in 2022/23 (sorta, possibly, let’s say so eh).

| 23/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | St.Marys Stadium | Southampton Vs Arsenal |

| Southampton’s Unpredictability & Arsenal’s Return To League Action |

Hasenhüttl’s Southampton side can be very unpredictable, I think it’s fair to say, and they have caused problems for top 4 sides in recent times.

Wins against Chelsea, Liverpool & Manchester City in recent seasons spring to mind.

Southampton’s home form has much improved since the start of 2021/22, and they have only been defeated once at home in the league this far this season (1-2 against Everton), and managed to beat Chelsea earlier on in the campaign.

Back in the zone again.

| 23/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Molineux | Wolves Vs Leicester City |

| Wolves’s Scoring Problems & Leicester’s Away Form / A Midland’s Derby Between 2 of the Current Bottom 3|

● Wolves have just scored 5 times in the Premier League in 2022/23.

Leicester City still await a first away win (in the league) this season.

Neither side are currently scoring a ton of goals.

However, Wolves are generally tougher to beat at Molineux.

It is still fairly early on in the season but currently Manchester City are the only side to have taken all 3 points from Molineux.

Wolves have mostly faced teams that are currently in the bottom half of the table.

What’s your point, you may be thinking, to be honest I don’t really know would be my response (I suppose I’m just writing stuff, it is a way of looking at who teams have already faced this season, in relation to results).

Leicester City are boosted by a couple of wins in recent weeks, albeit at home, they have lost every match away from home this season (5 matches).

Leicester have conceded less big chances in recent weeks (eye test), albeit they have faced 4 sides in the bottom half, but the 7 points taken from a possible 12 in their previous 4 GWs is an improvement (and possibly a psychlogical boost for the side).

But I don’t know, I’m not in their heads, worth mentioning though I suppose.

| 23/10/22 | 16:30 (GMT) | The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | Spurs Vs Newcastle United |

| Spurs’ Home Form & Newcastle’s Resilient Defence (Or Defending As A Team) |

Spurs have won the vast majority of their home matches this season.

This match sees the league’s third best attack (in terms of goals scored) up against the best defence (least goals conceded).

Newcastle United go into this one off the back of back to back clean sheets.

| 24/10/22 | 20:00 (GMT) | The London Stadium | West Ham United Vs Bournemouth |

| West Ham United’s Home Form & Bournemouth’s Conceding Habits |

West Ham United are creating a fair amount of chances (overall).

This is a nice fixture for them, not to write off Bournemouth though, but 3 of West Ham’s next 4 matches are at home (against teams that are currentlyin the bottom half).

▪︎ Bournemouth have conceded in every away match in the league in 2022/23

▪︎ Bournemouth have the joint 2nd worst defence (along with Nottingham Forest) in terms of *** most *** goals conceded (23 goals conceded) in the Premier League in 2022/23

| Overview (Ish) GW13 – GW16 (Plus, Some Factors To Consider) |

A quick fire look here at the fixtures from GW13 up until the World Cup.

I mean, I say that, I’m mainly someone who likes attacking what’s in front of me.

I do absolutely look ahead at the fixtures, but I don’t even know what I’m doing in a few hours time, nevermind looking further ahead than that.

Things can change week to week, or GW to GW, let alone day to day.

And as a Sky Sports Fantasy Football player, there are times when you have the team news at the start of each match day, so I think you have the most information possible on the Friday or Saturday (usually).

Having said that, or written that to be precise, obviously it does help to look ahead.

Manchester City and West Ham United have 3 matches at home in their next 4 league matches.

2 of Liverpool’s next 4 league matches are at home (against 3 sides that are currently in the bottom half).

Palace face sides that are around mid table or that are currently in the bottom half of the table.

Arsenal have 3 of their 4 league matches away from home (albeit 3 of their opponents are currently in the bottom half of the table).
