GW11 FPL (Sky Sports FF Too) Imperfectly Perfect & Perfectly Imperfect Stream of Consciousness – Getting This Out In A Minute (Really, I Am Now, I Have Edited It Loads Now) – Let’s See How It Goes Then (Trying Something Old Yet Also Something New) – De La Soul, MF Doom Version

| Introduction |

● Wildcard is in play (the latest I have ever played it, as in in a season, I activated it earlier on in the week)

● To powerphrase a certain saying – there are things I think, I hope and I know – I am conscious of this way of thinking

● GW12 is in mind

● Food for thought for GW13 onwards (trying to be flexible as possible)

● The ‘know’ part is being focused on (as much as humanly possible)

● This post is partly being written in a way to summarise general form (partly for myself, I find it can help to write notes, break things down, ‘simplify’ things a bit)

● Sometimes it helps to recap, but also it is written with a view at other things too (underlying numbers, how teams are setting up, some puns etc).

● Got the option of making transfer(s) during the GW in Sky Sports FF

● It is mainly a concise way of writing but I’ll keep it free and light too

● Pretty sure these stats are on the money (honestly, who’d do all this lark eh), maybe I made some of them up for a laugh (mesin), they’ll be out of date in 5 minutes anyway (joking).

● Jokes aside, this post may of interest in terms of GWs that are coming up, for those playing Sky Sports FF (as you can make transfers during the GW) and/or in a general football sense

● Hopefully these (rough) numbers are of interest or useful

This sorta just came on when I searched for De La Soul – absolute belter tune – love how tight it is (like my FPL/Sky Sports team)

| Fixtures |

| 14/10/22 | 20:00 (GMT) | Brentford Vs Brighton |

| Brentford’s Conceding Habits, De Zerbi’s Brighton’s Defensive Base To Unleash Brighton’s Attack (?) |

● Brentford have conceded in 7 of their 9 Premier League matches in 2022/23

De Zerbi’s definitely has a reputation for being a very attack minded coach, and this may bode well for FPL/Sky Sports Fantasy Football, as well as from an entertainment point of view.

However, he has been reported to have said that he does not want to change too much too soon, and this may be wise given that Brighton have the joint best defense record in terms of goals conceded (9) in the Premier League this season.

| 15/10/22 | 12:30 (GMT) | Leicester City Vs Crystal Palace  |

| Leicester City’s Goal Scoring Form & Palace’s Form/Fixtures |

▪︎ Leicester City have scored 15 goals in 9 league matches (7th highest) in 2022/23

So they have scored more than 13 teams this season.

Some teams have played 8 matches, some have played 9, but you know I am a casual mate.

Mesin, it is a rough way to sum up form, you can drive yourself crazy looking at every inch I reckon.

So, on that note, I’ll see what I can find in terms of underlying numbers now (yeah, that was sort of joke).

OK, credit to FBREF for the following bit of data (and credit to me for looking it up, yeah, you are welcome).

Leicester’s xG is 9.5 (ok that isn’t it, I think, yeah).

It’s not absolutely amazing, but they have Maddison’s influence and Crystal Palace have conceded 12 goals in 8 league matches in 2022/23 (xGA is 12 something…hang on…to be precise it is 12.7).

In fairness, after looking at that a bit closer, Palace’s defence’ may not be as ‘bad’ as I was I first thought.

This data lark eh, I don’t mind it sometimes, I’ll try to be more ‘professional’ from now on (got to keep being funny though haven’t I, have to see, whatever really)

Anyway, Viera’s side have played 3 of the current top 4, but they have conceded in 7 of their 8 league matches in 2022/23.

Some food for thought here then – their next 6 opponents are currently in the bottom half (Leicester City away, Wolves at Home, Everton away, Southampton at home, West Ham United away & Nottingham Forest away) – think these are correct anyway.

| 15/10/22 | 15:00 (GMT) | Fulham Vs Bournemouth |

| Fulham Tend To Concede A Fair Bit Mate & Bournemouth’s Quitely *** Overall *** Decent Start (They’ve A Newly Promoted Side) |

● Fulham have conceded in 8 of their 9 league matches in 2022/23

Bournemouth are 8th in the league, are unbeaten in the league since GW5 and have some nice fixtures coming up.

| 15/10/22 | 15:00 (GMT) | Wolves Vs Nottingham Forest |

| Wolves Generally Don’t Score Many & Forest Concede Chances Galore |

Wolves are the lowest scoring team in the league (3 goals scored).

| 15/10/22 | 17:30 (GMT) | Spurs Vs Everton |

| Spurs’ Strong Home Form & Everton’s Defence Concedes More Chances/Goals Than You May Think |

● Spurs are the 3rd highest scoring side in the league (20 goals scored)

● Everton have conceded in 7 of their 9 Premier League matches in 2022/23

● Everton have an xGA of 14.9

| 16/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Aston Villa Vs Chelsea |

| Gerrard’s Currently A Villian But For How Much Longer & Chelsea Are Pottering On (Soz, Not Soz) |

| 16/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Leeds United Vs Arsenal |

| Leeds’ Home Form (They Beat Chelsea 3-0) & Arsenal’s Winning Run |

| 16/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Manchester United Vs Newcastle United |

| United’s General Form & Newcastle’s Goal Scoring Form |

● Newcastle United are currently the 5th highest scoring team (17 goals scored) in the Premier League in 2022/23

| 16/10/22 | 14:00 (GMT) | Southampton Vs West Ham United |

| Southampton’s Conceding Week In, Week Out & West Ham United’s Renewed Feel Good Factor (?) |

● Southampton have conceded in all 9 league matches in 2022/23

● West Ham United go into this fixture off the back of back to league wins (plus 4 wins in the UEFA Conference League this season, the opposition is not of the same quality of the Premier League, but Moyes’ side are seemingly back to winning ways)

| 16/10/22 | 16:30 (GMT) | Liverpool Vs Manchester City |

| Liverpool’s Home Record & Manchester City’s Firepower |

The league’s top scoring team go to Anfield having won all but 2 of their league matches (unbeaten) this season.

It is no surprise that Manchester City are the highest scoring side in the league with 33 goals scored in 2022/23.

| Team Reveals (FPL & Sky Sports FF) |

This wildcard team was selected for various reasons, it is very nice to have played it and I was thinking how I wanted to have a more pound for pound balanced team/squad – it has a template base with arguably the best defences ‘covered’ (numbers wise that is) but with also plenty of attacking quality with in form players playing for sides with overall impressive numbers, data and fixtures.
May be transferring in Trossard (captain) for tonight’s match (today’s match day)
