Being Unmaterialistic In A Very Materialistic World

I’m feeling really good today. Yesterday was really good, glad we won obviously. Was glad to be there. It made me realise why I think watching footy on the TV is still underrated though but being there up close is quality – I was in the kop & seeing a winning goal up close is a reminder of what it’s about in a very materialistic world.

This is what’s funny with me though – recently I wasn’t quite enjoying watching games on the tv as much but there’s different ways of taking in football but with it being autumn now I think I’m getting back into it & it’s defo a way for your money to go further- watching footy at home that is.

Listening to games, getting updates, looking at stats, listening to podcasts – it’s all visual or audio information.

The FPL community is showing how ‘going to the game’ isn’t necessarily the only way to be knowledge about football – I mean there’s different ways of talking about football – tactics, technique, trivia, managers, culture, kits etc.

Yeah my writing is mad isn’t it but there we are – it’s authentic – remember keep this site quiet as possible as I want to keep it like a cool underground arts club.

Well tell some people if you want.

So where was I.

Ok.

About not being materialistic – I say that as someone who has material objects such a phone & a tablet device – but I’m someone who sees things about being much more than money.

I said more than money.

Money is important.

But the mind doesn’t care about money sometimes – as in you may have money – but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re always in a great place mentally.

I don’t know want to be someone who sounds like they’re in cloud coo koo land – I’ve written about how there’s so many food banks in the UK and poverty worldwide – money is sadly what makes the world go around.

I mean in a lefty, hippie, sitting under trees sorta way – I sometimes think – can this world be better without money.

Don’t know how that works but the world is getting more technological based – it’s a trippy thought – imagine a way of getting rid of money though eh.

Also, to add to what I said – there’s lot’s of problems going on in the UK and worldwide – so I’m very concious of that.

I mean that’s why we have our interests, hobbies, outlets etc.

That’s why I find it mad where society and footy is at in many ways – we have stuff going on in the week – and yet there’s so much seriousness going on with football and other things.

It’s meant to be enjoyable. Not always. Winning helps but it’s literally meant to be a fun game.

If you’re not enjoying it enough, maybe you need to find ways of making it enjoyable. I mean there’s much bigger issues.

The environment is a problem. Let’s do more, whilst also getting creative and more efficient. Save energy & all. Save energy by not shouting to someone about who should be playing in midfield in ya team. Or whether someone has to play Fpl a certain way. Or whether you’re a lefty or royalist or whatever. Just chill. These are my thoughts anyway.

The thing that has me rethinking is this. What has caused problems is hate. At the same time hating what we hate can make us love what we love more. I don’t know man. Whatever. Maybe it’s all yin and yang. Maybe we can all get on better.

At the same time you just have to laugh at the some of the madness in this world. I don’t know mate. I defo don’t have all the answers. I don’t know are 3 underrated words in society.

If we don’t meet half way, then that’s how wars start. It’s give and take. My frustration is tryna talk to ignorant people who don’t want to know but there we are.

We need to get annoyed at some stuff sometimes I suppose. I defo sound trippy here. Well whatever really.

That’s why I’ll add to what I wrote on my previous post – I was being a bit tongue in cheek – obviously people can be millionaires/ billionaires and still have mental health problems and be experiencing grief.

That’s why I’m trying to be balanced in my views – ok sometimes emotionally it’s easier to be all or nothing or black and white when having opinions – and as someone who is very anti establishment I’m not in a hurry to feel much sympathy for those who like the Royals but…

They are experiencing grief and I’m happy to say as much as I’m very anti establishment – there is no amount of money that replaces a loved one being physically alive.

There’s many who don’t like the Royals – I think this something we can think about – we don’t necessarily need to put all stock into ‘success’ & wealth.

Being seen as a good person or a liked person is surely more meaningful – or at least someone who people respect – even if they are not agreed with on everything.

So this is why I think it’s nuanced.

Like many things.

This is why I kept the silence but turned my back at Anfield last night.

This why I’m not really an absolutist.

This is why I see more to the world than just money.

I’m seeing how things are getting better now. I can see things getting better. I can see where I’m going. I’m rockin’ it man.
