To be completly honest, I don’t feel like doing this but I want to keep the discipline up of doing these routinely.
I’m listening to The Zutons. What a band. Listening to loads of their songs here. Think they’ll get me going here.
Feeling pretty high off a run. It’s been a good day. Very good really.

Mac Allister banged in a brace. Sound that lad. The technique for that free kick was ridiculous – ridiculously good. Getting him in GW5 was like a feeling or gut feeling really or something. Besides, you can roll the dice a bit sometimes.
Salah captaincy didn’t go well but I defo think I had hard lines with him hitting the post – he had 4 goal attempts and he created a couple of half decent chances I thought (eye test). No player has created more chances than Mo this season (LiveScore). With Jota back available, Firmino up there for shots and Nunez back again – I think it’s worth considering keeping Salah & looking at how Liverpool are creating numerous chances. Plus, it’s Fpl money – not real money.

I’ve seen him wonder a bit centrally too at times – it’s not table football – players don’t stay in the same spot all game – he cuts in on his left foot for the chance where he hits the post – he can get ugly assists & goals too. He’s had 17 shots this season & Haaland’s had 25 – there’s not a lot between them really but obviously Haaland having 10 league goals to his name already is amazing.
By the way, I’ve checked these stats a couple of times now – they’ve been collected from a variety of sources/apps – hopefully they’re on the money. If not let’s just say they’re sound eh. Mesin. They’re looking pretty sound I think. I’m open to different ways of taking in football. Numbers can be a bit rough sometimes anyway – like it’s not always easy to quantify absolutely everything – some things are psychological and numbers change all the time in football (from minute to minute, game to game, GW to GW etc).
I’m just writing stuff here. It’s been a busy day. The music is keeping me going. I’m getting this out soon.
I haven’t signed a contract saying I have to keep him but I don’t see a massive need or panic to sell him either. You are allowed to change your mind & especially when information changes and given how things can change from day to day in football. I’m not saying I’m not considering other options but I see this game as a flexible one & there’s always options – particularly as I’m playing two fantasy football games – but what what I’m saying is that it’s worth having your own mind & *** not *** rushing into rash decisions.
De Bruyne is under consideration, he’s playing really well & had numerous goal attempts & an assist in GW6. I’ve got 2 teams so let’s see eh.
It’s perfectly fine to be imperfect in this game but I look to do as well as possible obviously. We’re 6 GWs in. I don’t expect to have a perfect team at this point – I’m enjoying the challenge & the thrill of the chase (Arctic Monkeys reference there for ya) – in a calm chilled sorta way.
| Other Little Bits |
No hits taken this season. The little points add up. Big ones too.
So this belittling of people for making decisions about football in (a) fantasy football game(s) needs to stop in my opinion.
Anyway. I’m using this week to reflect & mull over some things.
It’s easy to be wise after the event isn’t it. Haaland scored & had 3 shots on target – obviously scoring with a third of those – my maths is boss isn’t it mate. I just wasn’t sure on whether he was going to start – part of me thought there was rationale in him starting & part of me didn’t. Also, Everton had conceded in every league match prior to GW6 – and conceded 8 shots on target in said GW – plus having their woodwork struck 2 or 3 times (think it was 3…yeah it was wasn’t it). But anyway, it’s about being clinical but my point is I don’t make decisions willy nilly. I’ve got most of the captains right this season in FPL/Sky Sports FF – in terms of getting at least one significant return – but realistically no one is getting every decision right.
So that’s ok. Time to move on. I thought it was going to be a tricky GW.
Williams got an ‘assist’. Sound. Anyway.

I think it’s the little wins in fantasy footy – two significant captain returns on both match days – a hat trick from Toney (could’ve captained him in theory but whatever my glass is half full).
A clean sheet from Sá & Trippier too.
Just 3 transfers made thus far in 2022/23 – I wrote it like that on purpose to make it look trippy.
I’ll consider some moves through the week but I don’t feel pressure or rushed into making ‘big’ moves for the sake of it or because of every Tom, Dick & Harry making loads of noise. I really respect & appreciate the FPL community – and I’m proud to be part of it – and I enjoy listening to what people say & write when it’s done in a respectful way.
Might just get this out in a minute.
