Modern Friendships (Or More) And That

Modern Friendships and that

Meeting in person

Talking on apps

Strangers as friends

Friends as strangers

What’s real

What’s fantasy

(Are these worlds merging)

People just don’t want to feel lonely

Single with no kids

(Worrying about doing your parents proud)

(Feeling pressure to satisfy society but also enjoying telling it to do one)

Free as a bird

Where’s the fun in being sensible

Shy but getting out there more

As long as it’s respectful and above board

Then I can explore

Being friends is cool

It’s nice to have a connection (as friends or more)

I’m chill

Tall, dark and handsome (you got love yourself…so others will too)

We’re young and free

I’m enjoying this new rebellious but kind alter ego

Maybe my alter ego wants to be in the heat of the moment

I don’t know what I want

And that’s ok

I’m enjoying being myself

Free to go out and about

Free to go where what I want

Free to meet new people

And talking to ones I already (virtually) met

I’m enjoying my space, I don’t necessarily need someone, but let’s see

I’m not tied down

(loads of people are in good relationships…not having a go…maybe I still believe in love…I probably do)

I’m not tied up either (whatever ya in to…that’s a joke…don’t cancel me)

Let’s be respectful but not repressed either

It’s nice having a laugh with someone

Or with various people

I’m seeing what’s out there

I’m celebrating being able to get out there (in groups) again

Having a good time is the main thing
