Premier League [ 2021/22 ] DGW29 Stream of Conciousness In (AD)HD (Stay In The Zone, Stay In The Zone, Stay In The Zone) { Another DGW } [ ‘The Slow Rush’ Version ] [ May Be Edited Slightly. ] [ May Be Tidied Up A Bit. [ No Reading Glasses This Week, Almost Is The Eye Test This GW, Plus Numbers, Observations Etc. ]

| Introduction |

Another GW.

Another DGW.

Another stream of conciousness, hope it reads well and the (approximate) numbers help or are interesting, think I double checked them now (hopefully they are pretty much about right!)

Another music influenced one (Jain is getting me over the line here, she is boss, have a listen to her songs)

Another XI, perhaps a cheeky pick or two, players included in the other bits, take your pick (do a pick a mix if you like, from the XI and/or from the players mentioned in the article)

Another preview (think it is ready to be put out now).

Good luck and enjoy the GW.

| Fixtures |

| 12/03/22 | 12:30 (UK) | The Amex Stadium | Brighton Vs Liverpool |

| Brighton’s Lack of (Home) Form & Salah’s Goal Scoring MOments against Brighton |

Brighton play nice football and deserve respect but they have been on a difficult run recently, and curiously so at home.

To their credit Brighton are unbeaten in their previous 3 matches against Liverpool.

Liverpool are victorious in all but 1 of their meetings at The Amex (1-3, 0-1 & 1-5) since Brighton were to the Premier League for the first time in their history

Liverpool are the highest scoring team away from home (34) in the league in 2021/22

Salah has scored/assisted in most of his appearances for Liverpool against Brighton

Liverpool may get joy against a side that wants to come out and play football and get plenty of space on a big pitch to create chances and possibly get in behind.

| 12/03/22 | 15:00 (UK) | The Brentford Community Stadium | Brentford Vs Burnley |

Brentford got a big win at Norwich City (1-3) in GW28, whilst Burnley have only won once away from home in the league this season (at the time of writing).

| 12/03/22 | 17:30 (UK) | Old Trafford | Manchester United Vs Spurs |

| Manchester United’s Chances Created, Problemic Home Form (?) & Spurs’ Front 3, Scoring 3 Or More & 3 Scoring Away From Home |

Manchester United have dropped points in 7 home matches this season

Spurs have scored 3 goals or more in 3 of their previous 4 league matches (5-0, 0-4 & 2-3)

Spurs have scored 3 goals or more in 3 of their previous 5 league matches away from home

• All 3 of Kulusevski, Kane & Son have scored or assisted in 3 of their previous 4 league matches

[ Only 3 games on Saturday, bit mad that. ]

| 12/03/22 | 14:00 (UK) | Stamford Bridge | Chelsea Vs Newcastle United |

| Chelsea’s Home Form & Newcastle United’s Unbeaten Run (Written Before They Play Southampton…Newcastle Won At Southampton, They Are Now Unbeaten In 9 League Matches) |

Chelsea are unbeaten in the vast majority of their (Premier League) home matches this season/have won a significant amount of them (in all competitions)

| 12/03/22 | 14:00 (UK) | Goodison Park | Everton Vs Wolves |

| Will The Old Lady Be Rockin’ Or Will Wolves Get Back To Away Day Winning Ways? |

Everton are 17th, but have gotten some results at home this season, and may be boosted by their home support.

Wolves have a decent overall away record but have lost their previous 2 away matches in the league, but can make it tough for teams away from home (3/5 at the back and have one of the best defences this season in terms of least goals conceded).

| 13/03/22 | 14:00 (UK) | Elland Road | Leeds United Vs Norwich City |

| Raphinha To March Marsch’s Leeds Side At Home In March (Not Against Villa Anyway, They Got Battered 0-3) & Norwich Condeding Away From Home |

The Darren Huckerby Derby (Played For Both Clubs)

Raphinha is not in particularly good form, but he is still their key player, and has scored the majority of his league goals this season at Elland Road.

• No team has conceded more goals away from home in the league than Norwich City (other than Leeds United and Southampton, they have conceded the most)

| 13/03/22 | 14:00 (UK) | St.Marys Stadium | Southampton Vs Watford |

• Southampton are unbeaten in the majority of their home matches in the league this season

| 13/03/22 | 14:00 (UK) | The London Stadium | West Ham United Vs Aston Villa |

• West Ham United are in the top 5 for most goals scored and Villa have won 3 in a row in the league

| 5 matches on at 2 pm (UK time), bit mad that. |

| 13/03/22 | 16:00 (UK) | The Emirates Stadium | Arsenal Vs Leicester City |

| 14/03/22 | 20:00 (UK) | Selhurst Park | Crystal Palace Vs Manchester City |

| Palace’s Scoring Run & City’s Struggles Against Palace (?)|

• Crystal Palace have scored 7 goals in their previous 3 league matches

| 16/03/22 | 19:30 (UK) | The Amex Stadium | Brighton Vs Spurs

Spurs have won 4 away matches in the league since (hang on, I’ll have to have a look…since GW21).

Spurs have scored 3 or more in away matches at Leeds United (0-4, Manchester City (2-3) & Leicester City (2-3) in recent months.

| 16/03/22 | 20:15 (UK) | The Emirates | Arsenal Vs Liverpool |

| 17/03/22 | 19:45 (UK) | Goodison Park | Everton Vs Newcastle United |

| Teams To Do Well (?), DGW Influenced|

Liverpool

• Highest scoring team away from home in Premier League in 2021/22

• Most big chances created in the league this season (109)

• 7 consecutive wins in the Premier League (in 2022)

• 5 clean sheets in the league in 2022

• 9 clean sheets in all competitions in 2022

Spurs

• Scored 3 or more in 3 of their previous 4 league matches

Chelsea (yes and no)

Arsenal (yes and no, Leicester at home is a nice fixture, especially given how many they concede chances and goals wise)

Manchester City (yes and no, have struggled against Palace in recent times, their Dias and possibly Cancelo – less defence may be tested by an exciting and progressive quitely in form Palace side)

XI: Pickford; Trent, Doherty, Robertson; Salah, Kuluveski, Coutinho, Raphinha, Saka; Kane, Pukki Bench: Foster, Gelhardt, Veltman, Johnson

| XI |

| Heavy Hitters |

Salah

Highest scoring player in the league this season, highest scoring player away from home in the league this campaign (10), and has had some of his biggest returns away from home in 2021/22 – including at least 3 double figure returns away against Everton (1-4), Manchester United (0-5) and Norwich City (0-3) respectively.

Salah has scored/assisted in most of his appearances for Liverpool against Brighton.

• Most shots in the league this season (105)

• 1st for shots on target per game this season (2.0)

Trent

Highest returning defender (clean sheets, assists & goals cominbed) this season.

Most big chances created in the league this season (16), by players, not just defenders (credit to SofaScore)

Robertson (right up there for returns from defenders, may start both, especially as they are away matches and with the title race being on)

Mané

• Over 100 Premier League goals scored (for Liverpool & Southampton).

Kane

• 9 league goals scored since GW18.

• 13 goal involvements (9 goals & 4 assists) since GW9 (may include FPL/fantasy football assists)

• 11 big chances created (SofaScore)

Lacazette

Son (a threat in behind, has amazing technique to shoot from distance, and is up there for top goal scorers this season)

De Bruyne (more returns/goals scored at home, but can do it away, one to consider possibly for this GW and/or for GWs coming up)

Cancelo/Mahrez/Sterling (fitness permiting with Cancelo, City have conceded a few recently, although the Portuguese is up there for shots and creativity)

| Middleweights |

Kuluveski

• Scored/assisted in 3 of his previous 4 league matches (2 goals & 3 assists).

Raphinha

• (Home) matches coming up against teams that are currently 9th or lower.

Saka/Odegaard/Martinelli (DGW, 2 matches at home)

Havertz

• 3 goals in his previous 3 league matches, and appears to be Chelsea’s focal point.

Coutinho

The Brazilian is in top form (very much influential, is central to Villa’s attacks with Ings/Wakins to play off and at times seemingly gets in the area) and may get quite a bit of space on a big pitch at The London Stadium, not an easy fixture, but West Ham United have conceded aproximately 19 goals at home in the league season.

Cash/Digne

| Possible Differentials |

Pukki

• Faces a Leeds United side that has conceded 18 goals in their previous 5 league matches (may be without Phillips)

Mount

• Scored against Norwich City in midweek (not for the first time this season), quitely on a reasonable amount of returns this season, and can make runs from deep in to the area (offers creativity too)

Van De Beek/Gordon (punt)

• Can make runs from deep (or wide from Gordon’s point of view).
