| Introduction |
Hope these recommendations, hints, notes etc help (Liverpool are not involved this GW, having just banged in 9 goals in 2 matches, so you will have to make do with the rest of the league unfortunately…joking).
Hope it reads well.
Hope the (rough/approximate) numbers help.
This week’s lyrics thrown in the fun of it are the following:-
“Going with the flow, it’s all a game to me” Ace of Spades by Motorhead.
| 25/02/22 | 20:00 (UK) | St.Marys | Southampton Vs Norwich City |
| Southampton Strong At Home & Norwich Conceding Away |
• Southampton are unbeaten in all but 1 of their league matches at home in 2021/22.
• Southampton have been impressive overall – wins at home against Brentford (4-1) and Everton (2-0) in fairly recent GWs – as well as taking points off City – and wins at West Ham United (2-3) and Spurs (2-3) springs to mind.
What do I say here, well, Southampton are on a really decent run and Norwich concede loads away.
Southampton have not kept many clean sheets (do tend to condede a fair few really, but have had tough fixtures, making their form even more impressive).
Norwich have a bit of pace on the break (well normally I think), Dean Smith will hope one of his side’s can score away at Southampton this season, having managed Villa there (1-0) earlier on in the season.
That Kosovan lad looks bright, keep an eye on him.
| 26/02/22 | 12:30 (UK) | Elland Road | Leeds United Vs Spurs |
| A Tough Week For Leeds Vs A New Look Spurs (?) |
Spurs come off the back of a huge high of beating Manchester City (2-3) at the Etihad.
Leeds United are seemingly still without Phillips, and have conceded a hugely significant amount of chances and goals in recently GWs.
Leeds United are seemingly unlikely to have Phillips available.
Conceded 10 goals in their previous 2 league matches – against Liverpool (6-0) & Manchester United (4-2).
Conceded loads recently.
Spurs scored 3 away against Manchester City (2-3) – currently the side that has conceded the least amount of goals this season (prior to the GW began City ranked really high for defensive underlying numbers – but opened up a bit and are vulnerable to pace and counter attacks) – and that front 3 looked (all involved in goals away at the current champions) really impressive in my opinion.
| 26/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | The Brentford Community Stadium | Brentford Vs Newcastle United |
| The Toney Connection (Is He Even Fit?) & Newcastle’s Improvement (?) |
| 26/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | The Amex | Brighton Vs Aston Villa |
| Brighton’s Slightly Concerning Home Form (?) & Villa Need A Win |
| 26/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | Selhurst Park | Crystal Palace Vs Burnley |
| Palace’s Slight Dip In (Home) Form, Cornet To Score (Or Assist) Against Palace Again (?) Burnley’s Second Win/Wind (?) |
Burnley are mainly unbeaten in recent league matches against teams that are not in the top 6, have picked up back to back clean sheets (got a clean sheet away at Arsenal too the other week, or whenever it was) and have players that can get them goals/assists in Weghorst/Cornet (when fit).
| 26/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | Old Trafford Manchester United Vs Watford |
| Manchester United’s Underwhelming Home Form & Watford (Were) Tougher To Beat Under Hodgson (Well Looked That Way Until They Got Absolutely Battered By Palace At Home, So Yeah, They Are Probably Going To Try And Get Players Behind The Ball) |
| 26/02/22 | 17:30 (UK) | Goodison Park | Everton Vs Manchester City |
| Everton’s Goodison’s Roar Or Blues & Manchester City’s Multiple Options (?)||
| 27/02/22 | 14:00 (UK) | The London Stadium | West Ham United Vs Wolves |
| West Ham United’s Mixed Home Form & Wolves March On |
| 01/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | Turf Moor | Burnley Vs Leicester City |
| Burnley’s Turf Moor Grit, Cornet To Score (Or Assist) Against Leicester Again (?) Leicester Conceding Away|
• Leicester City have not kept a single clean sheet away from home in the Premier League in 2021/22.
| Teams To Do Well (?) |
Southampton
Spurs
Burnley (back to back league wins and have a DGW)
Manchester City
| Teams To Possibly To Do Well (?) |
Manchester United
Dropped many points at home and face a more well organised Watford side * away from home *, but have top quality players that can put bottom half teams to the sword on any given day.

| Heavy Hitters |
Son/Kane (both have different routes to points and like playing Leeds, Kane has better underlying numbers since around December onwards and banged in a brace at City/Son likes an assist or 2 and is up there for top scorers this season)
Sterling (on double figures for league goals this season)
Mahrez (in form, seemingly on pens and gives City a direct threat cutting in on his left foot)
De Bruyne
Bruno Fernandes (been a lot better recently, has scored 6 goals at home in the league in 2021/22 and is no stranger to creating chances)
Ronaldo (minutes permitting)
Sancho (looking sharp, minutes seemingly in his favour, and may be somewhat of a differential this GW – as well as someone who can give United an outlet to break teams down)
| Middleweights (Or Possibly Differentials Ish)|
Broja/Adams (both like to run in behind, can cut in or dribble well with the ball)/Ward-Prowse (set pieces)/S.Armstrong (makes runs from midfield) (Don’t know what their xG is to be completely honest but they are playing Norwich at home, conceded loads away – right up there for most goals conceded away from home in the league in 2021/22 – Southampton are on really good run and with decent fixtures coming up)
Weghorst (nice touch, goal and assist at Brighton, DGW with Palace and Leicester)
Livramento/Walker-Peters (cheap option, bit of punt, Southampton have only kept 1 clean sheet in the league since December think I am right in saying)
Bowen
Foden (think he is one of those who pops up with a goal a bit out of no where, makes quality runs in the area, obviously a talented player who can play in multiple positions)
Coutinho/Ramsey (get in the area, Ramsey likes to run behind, and Coutinho has magic in his boots )
| Possible Differentials |
Cresswell
Has returned well overall recently, having attracted bonus points, and offers West Ham United an outlet from the left with his left foot in open play and with his set pieces.
Roberts/Tarkowski/Mee (Roberts is seemingly in favour and cheap, the centre backs have a threat from set pieces going up for them)
| Cornet (fitness permitting) |
