Premier League [ 2021/22 ] DGW26 Another { Imperfect } Stream of Conciousness (Notes, Teams, Players, Hints Etc. ) [ Do One Dyslexia! May Be Edited Slightly For 5 Mins Or So/Edited A Bit Later On But Think It Is About Right Now! ]

| Introduction (Might Be Weird This But What’s New) |

Listening to A Tribe Called Quest while I try to get this done.

Also listened to Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Jungle, Tame Impala etc.

Whilst being in the zone.

So yeah, the footy, here we go.

This is done a bit of the cuff.

And it might be a bit rough.

Hope it’s enough.

Hope it reads well.

Hope it (approximate/rough) numbers, notes etc help.

Good luck and enjoy the GW, have fun picking your team and be ready for different scenarios (game theory).

So here’s Busta Rhymes with the scenario.” (A Tribe Called Quest).

Yeah I was listening to that (on the mind).

Back to football.

Sometimes doing it like this can be useful.

It’s a way of going with the flow (‘Go With The Flow’ song/in the words of Pete Rock & CL Smooth).

It’s a free game.

Bit rubbish that bit but might keep in for a laugh.

Just like a pro, so you know, I am ready and set to go with the flow.” (Pete Rock & CL Smooth).

| 19/02/22 | 12:30 (UK) | The London Stadium | West Ham United Vs Newcastle United |

| The Kevin Nolan Derby (Played For Both Clubs) |

West Ham United are the 4th highest scoring team in the league in 2021/22, face a Newcastle United side with just 1 win away all season (albeit it came recently) and face a Newcastle United side that has Trippier ruled out (Newcastle have won a few games at West Ham in recent seasons to be fair but West Ham are are a different side now in many ways).

| 19/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | The Emirates Stadium | Arsenal Vs Brentford |

| Arsenal Meet Brentford Again (Couldn’t Think of a Better Title, They Played Each Other On The Opening Day, Feels Like Ages Ago That) |

Arsenal have scored in all but 2 of their home league matches this season, have one of the best home records and are in many ways a completely different team to the one that faced Brentford in GW1.

| 19/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | Villa Park | Aston Villa Vs Watford |

| Gerrard Vs Hodgson |

Gerrard’s Villa have been mostly positive in terms of performances and results (against teams outside of the top 3), for the most part, and are exciting going forward.

Aston Villa have conceded in all but 2 matches since Gerrard’s arrival (no doubt this will be doing Gerrard’s head in and is something he is wanting to put a stop to this) but the reality is it is broadly the same defensive players he took over from Smith (Digne aside, and Chambers).

Watford are yet to score under Hodgson (conceded less goals in matches since his arrival as manager and with new options/players back available in defence but are boosted by AFCON winner Sarr, who offers their attack another dynamic, and may help Dennis/King.

| 19/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | The Amex Stadium | Brighton Vs Burnley |

| Beauty & The Beast |

Brighton are well organised and have most of the possession, although they are in the top 8 for least goals conceded this season, have conceded in all but 6 of their previous 7 league matches.

Burnley are unlikely to have more of the ball in most matches they play, but have only conceded 2 goals in their previous 4 (2 clean sheets) league matches against 3 of the top 6), and do have already played most of the top 4/6 away this season (with 4 games in hand).

| 19/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | Selhurst Park | Crystal Palace Vs Chelsea |

| Palace At Home Vs World Champions |

| 19/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | Anfield | Liverpool Vs Norwich City |

| Liverpool’s Second Wind (No Pun Intented, Well Maybe On Some Level A Pun Was Indended) At An Anfield Fortress & Norwich City’s Conceding Away Goals |

Liverpool like playing Norwich, Norwich tend not to like playing Liverpool – Klopp’s side remain unbeaten at home in all competitions this season – and are the 3rd highest scoring team at home in the league this season.

| 19/02/22 | 15:00 (UK) | St.Marys | Southampton Vs Everton |

| Southampton’s Home Form (Unbeaten In All But 1 Home League Match This Season Think I Am Right In Saying) & Everton’s St.Marys Blues (Awful Record There Overall In Recent Seasons & Have Not Won Away Often This Season) |

| 19/02/22 | 17:30 (UK) | The Etihad | Manchester City Vs Spurs |

Manchester City’s Home Form & Spurs’ Somewhat Impressive Record Against City In Recent Seasons |

| 20/02/22 | 14:00 (UK) | Leeds United Vs Manchester United |

| Not Very United Clubs (An Old Rivarly, Bit Rubbish That Title But You Know, It Sprung To Mind) |

| 20/02/22 | 16:00 (UK) | Molineux | Wolves Vs Leicester City |

| Wolves On Form & Leicester On The Ropes (?) |

| 23/02/22 | 19:30 (UK) | Turf Moor | Burnley Vs Spurs |

| Burnley’s Scrap & Spurs’ Losing Run |

| 23/02/22 | 19:30 (UK) | Vicarage Road | Watford Vs Crystal Palace |

| Hodgson Against Former Club & Palace Under Viera |

• Don’t know what to write here to be honest, well, Watford need a spark at home again and Palace have conceded in all but 2 away league matches this season.

| 23/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | Anfield | Liverpool Vs Leeds United |

| Liverpool (Quitely Going Up The Gears & In 4 Comps) & Leeds United Meet At Anfield Again |

• Salah scored a hat-trick in this fixture in GW1 in 2020/21 (feels like ages ago that doesn’t it)

| 24/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | Emirates | Arsenal Vs Wolves |

• These two met recently, Arsenal won 0-1 and are performing well overall (especially at home) this season (especially GW4 onwards), but Wolves are impressing away

| Arsenal Quietly Not Conceding (Many) & Wolves’ Impressive (Away) Form |

| Teams To Do Well (This League Is A Bit Bonkers From 4th To 16th Ish, So Take It Like Pinch of Salt, And See XI/Squad & Heavy Hitters/MiddleWeights/Possible Differentials Bit) |

Liverpool

West Ham United

Arsenal

Southampton (Yes & No)

Experimental XI/squad, with 3.3 ITB, this as a way to highlight some players in particular (some possible differentials). Feel free to see the players from Heavy Hitters, Middleweight & Possible Differentials bit. You might want to have a better option or two on the bench but it is a way to show new ideas or approaches and not feeling FOMO (fear of missing out)/looking for differentials for chips/GWs coming up.

| Heavy Hitters |

Trent

• Highest returning defender in 2021/22, playing for a Liverpool side that has kept 3 consecutive clean sheets in all competitions (only Manchester City have kept in the league this season) and is the highest assisting defenfer this season

Ranks high for underlying numbers in terms of tackles, key passes, chances created and all that jazz.

Salah

Scored against Norwich City & Leeds United in the first few GWS (scored against all of the current top 4 this season, although he does especially well against teams that are open/don’t play a 3/5 at the system to a high effect on a regular basis), scored against Inter midweek and has put the round thing in the rectangular thing more than any other player in the league this season (likes playing Norwich & Leeds), I mean he likes playing everyone to be fair, having scored against the vast majority of Premier League teams he has faced.

Robertson

Jota the slotter is a seemingly injured for at least 1 match, meaning a slot is open for another Liverpool player, therefore Robertson can be slotted into your team if you fancy having an attacking full back who has 8 league assists to his name this season (in the top 4 for highest returning defenders this season in terms of clean sheets, assists and goals combined).

De Bruyne

• Has scored against Spurs before, offers a threat from distance, and creativity open play/set pieces

Son/Kane

Sterling

• Spurs’ main threats, both in around double figures for goal involvements in all comps this season, with not particularly easy fixtures for an out of form Spurs side (but can do it on any given day)

• Banged in a hat-trick away at Norwich City, is the 3rd player to reach double figures for league goals this season (along with Salah and Jota the Slotter)

Bruno Fernandes/Ronaldo

• Mostly returned at home, face a Leeds side that have conceded a considerable amount of goals recently, but one that never know when they are beat (so to speak)

Mané

Lacazette

Lukaku

Ziyech

Mahrez

Alonso

| Middleweights |

Bowen

Coutinho

Dennis/King (may well be boosted by Sarr’s return, and get more space, by offering an extra attacker for teams to think about/deal with)

Foden

| Possible Differentials |

Tierney

• Arsenal have conceded just 3 goals in their previous 6 league matches and the Scottish international is no stranger to getting forward into advanced positions

Digne

Cresswell (gets in plenty space going forward, at times a set piece taker who has been in the bonus points recently/can attract bonus points, and has the ability to deliver pacey balls/crosses with his artistry left foot.)

Sarr

• Is a much needed boost for Watford, a tricky wide forward with goals/assists in him, has two fixtures against bottom half teams this GW, and puts teams on the back foot/is a threat in behind outwide or cutting in

Cornet

Fairly cheap in FPL (possibly an option in Draft, Sky FF and/or FanTeam), seemingly on set pieces and is Burnley’s top scorer in the league this season (has a shot from distance and makes runs in behind for the most part).

Ramsey

Broja

Luis Diaz (minutes depending)
