Premier League [ 2021/22 ] GW24 Another Stream of Conciousness In (AD)HD (Extra Dyslexia Version) Preview (Includes Plenty of Brackets, For A Change, May Be Edited/Added To Slightly/Might Be Edited For 5 Minutes After First Putting It Out/May Need A Tidy Up)

After (or during) a bit of a mini break from football (well Premier League football anyway, there are other leagues and competitions, I have been enjoying to be honest), things may feel a bit fresher (I sware there was about 10 GWs in about a month recently, joking, but it was a frantic schedule), and it’s time to look at the next GW (and other ones coming up).

When was the Premier League on previously, feels like ages ago, not sure Burnley Watford counts to be honest (it literally does but you know).

This has become a bit all over the place but let’s see how this goes.

I don’t even know what to write anymore – like what is the ‘form’ and where is the rhythm – like it’s weird.

I played about with some colours in this, bit of an experiment, but it may be more aesthetically pleasing and help people with dyslexia (let’s see how it goes).

Hope it reads well and the (rough) numbers help (think I double or triple checked it now, has been write it like a pinch of salt.

| Fixtures |

| 08/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | St.James’ Park | Newcastle United Vs Everton |

| A New Look Newcastle United Vs Lampard’s Everton |

I don’t know what to say here, Newcastle have signed a ton of players, and Everton have won 1 league match in just a few months or something mad like that but scored 4 on the weekend and do have goals in them.

• Newcastle United come off the back of their first away win of the season

• Everton have not won away from home in the Premier League (won away at Hull City in the FA Cup in January) since beating Brighton (I think that’s right, might have to check)

• Lampard got off the mark with a 4-1 FA Cup win against Brentford.

| 08/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | The London Stadium | West Ham United Vs Watford |

| West Ham Looking For More Watford Joy Vs Hogdson’s Watford |

West Ham United have beaten Watford on numerous occasions in recent seasons

Watford kept their first clean sheet in the Premier League this season

• West Ham United are the 4th highest scoring team in the league this season (I already used that stat but you know)

• West Ham have struggled to win matches against sides in the bottom half but did beat Watford in December.

• West Ham continue to be in 3 competitions this season after their 1-2 FA Cup win in AET on the weekend.

| 08/02/22 | 20:00 (UK) | Turf Moor | Burnley Vs Manchester United |

| Cornet Back For Burnley (?) & Manchester United’s Away Form |

Burnley are more of a threat with Cornet in the team, and the Ivory Coast international Maxwell Cornet may well be available for the fixture (availability/pandemic permitting), as they were eliminated in a penalty-shoot in the knock-out rounds of AFCON.

Cornet is Burnley’s top scorer in the league this season, and despite the departure of Wood to Newcastle United, offers Burnley an outlet and quality going forward (is on free kicks and has scored some absolutely quality goals this season).

He also did not play too many minutes at the tournament (he scored in his return for Burnley from a direct free kick against Leeds United), and that may help him and Burnley moving forward, after Burnley’s positive result at Arsenal (0-0).

Manchester United have only lost 2 away matches in the Premier League this season.

| 09/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | The Etihad Stadium | Manchester City Vs Brentford |

| Manchester City Unbeaten In The Premier League Since (I Don’t Know, Feels Like Ages Ago, Crystal Palace At Home – They Dropped Points At Southampton Though) Vs Brentford |

Manchester City won 12 consecutive Premier League matches prior to drawing away against Southampton (1-1) in GW23.

| 09/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | Carrow Road | Norwich City Vs Crystal Palace |

| Back To Back League Wins For Norwich City & Crystal Palace With Attacking Options Aplenty |

Norwich City have won back to back league matches – Vs Watford (0-3) & Vs Everton (2-1) in GW23 & GW22 respectively.

Crystal Palace were victorious at home against Norwich City (3-0) in December (3 goal involvements for Edouard).

• Crystal Palace may well have a choice of numerous attackers with Edouard, Zaha, Olise, Eze, Mateta, Ayew & Benteke possibly available.

| 09/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | Spurs Vs Southampton |

| Spurs’ Looking To Go Unbeaten Again (Was Unbeaten In The League Under Conte) Vs Southampton (Quitely Been In Decent Form, For What’s It’s Worth) |

• Spurs were defeated for the first time in a league match under Conte, but have condeded very few goals under the Italian (nor have they conceded many high quality chances) and are have one of the best home records in the league this season.

| 09/02/22 | 20:00 (UK) | Villa Park | Aston Villa Vs Leeds United |

| The Start of Gerrard’s Villa’s Decent Run of Fixtures (Unless You Counted Goodison Park, Normally Tough But Everton’s Form Isn’t The Best Is It So I Don’t Know) & A Persistant Leeds United |

• Aston Villa have won a reasonable amount of matches under Gerrard, having faced the top 3 and Manchester United since his arrival as manager, but now have a run of fixtures against mostly teams currently in the bottom half.

• Leeds United beat West Ham United (2-3) in GW23 and have scored well in recent GWs.

| 10/02/22 | 19:45 (UK) | Anfield | Liverpool Vs Leicester City |

| A Fresh & Revamped Liverpool, Mané of the Moment/Salah To Feature (?), Leicester’s Ups And Downs |

• Mané seemingly has been ruled out of the fixture since I first wrote this. [ Updated on 09/02/22 at 00:58. ]

• Liverpool may have Keita and Luis Diaz available for selection.

• Liverpool are unbeaten at home in all competitions this season.

• Liverpool are the highest scoring team in the Premier League this season (think I am right in saying) and rank high for underlying numbers.

• Leicester City continue to have one of the worst defences in the league in regard to conceding chances and goals.

| 10/02/22 | 20:00 (UK) | Molineux | Wolves Vs Arsenal |

| Wolves With Saiss Back & Arsenal’s Youthful Revamp |

Wolves may have Saiss available, after Morocco being elimated by Egypt in AFCON, and still have the second best defence in terms of the goals conceded this season (Sá is up there for most saves).

• Tierney has returned in most of his recent Premier League matches and is one of the highest returning defenders in terms of clean sheets, assists & goals combined this season.

| Teams With DGWS (Everyone I Think, Hang on, Flippin’ Eck – Joking – Looks Like A Fair Few Teams Have Them)/A Rough Guide/See Ben Crellin/Legomane For More Details |

* Some teams may have blank/blanks (chips may come in handy to negotiate them in FPL , or transfers in other fantasy football games like Draft, Sky Sports and/or FanTeam can be used, or saving a couple of transfers perhaps). *

* Things can change due to fixture changes/the pandemic. *

Liverpool

Spurs (currently set to be involved in GW27)

Brighton (currently set to be involved in GW27 too)

Wolves (currently set to be involved in GW27)

Arsenal

Crystal Palace (currently set to be involved in GW27)

Manchester United

Leeds United

Burnley (possibly a triple, they have loads of games in hand anyway)

Leicester City (possibly a triple)

Watford

| Teams To Do Well (Not Putting Many Down As This League From About 4th To 16th Is Tough To Call – This Is Another GW Whefe Matches Can Easily Go Either Way In My Opinion)|

Liverpool

Manchester City

Aston Villa

| Squad Picks/Experimental With About 4 Mil ITB/Take Bits From It If You Like Or Take Bits From The Menu) |

Some options here for you, including one or two enablers, feel free to take some of these or mix them players in the lists in this article (partly influenced by the attacking full back options, set piece takers and trying to offer something a bit different – its not as if strikers are doing all that so you know – there is argubly more value in attacking ‘defenders’ and ‘midfielders’.

| Heavy Hitters |

De Bruyne (one of the best midfielders in the league and in the world, his underlying numbers are decent and can score big)

Bruno Fernandes/Ronaldo (up and down these two, and Burnley generally don’t concede as many at home as away, and have kept back to back clean sheets – but obviously these can do it on any given day).

Son/Kane (may be fit, has scored big against Southampton before, ane is set to have a DGW/Kane has scored a few league goals since December and looks brighter again)

Mané is not likely to feature (champion d’afrique/AFCON winner) / Salah (may feature, although after the physical and emotional 120 minutes and a penalty shoot out on Sunday, their minutes may be managed – but both have scored well against Leicester City and are set for a DGW soon)

Trent (highest returning defender in the league this season, and to be honest as a Liverpool fan I am not bored of saying that, one of the most creative players – set piece taker – in the league with a goal threat here and there let alone defenders

Cancelo (the Portugese continues to be defender with most clean sheets in the league this season – or one of them anyway – is no stranger to creating chances and is high up for shots this season despite not beung renouned for goal scoring)

Robertson (the Scottish international is one of the highest returning defenders in the league this season and is one of the highest assising defenders in recent Premier League seasons)

| Middleweights |

Bowen

Jota

Coutinho

(all exciting options this GW and beyond)

| Possible Differentials |

Edouard (scored/assisted 3 goals for Crystal Palace against * Norwich City * in December, most his returns have came at home but that doesn’t mean that he can’t deliver away)

Cresswell (set piece taker, bit of a punt given how West Ham United are not renounded for clean sheets recently, but has nice fixtures to possibly to use that left foot of his – has a pacey cross/set piece on him and faces a Watford side this GW that has lacked a bit of spark/hasn’t scored many goals recently – one of the highest assisting defenders in 2020/21)

Tierney (he is climbing my ‘Defenders Golden Boot’, is a part of an Arsenal side that has decant fixtures – a blank or two coming up fixture wise a side apparently – gets forward in advanced advanced positions)

Cornet

Get him in (back from AFCON), he’s boss, I think he is my favourite non Liverpool player in the league – had 4 goal attempts Vs Watcord & seemingly on set pieces)

That massive lad Burnley signed (apparently his name is Weghorst, apologies, only so many games of footy I can watch you see).
