UEFA Champions League Final – PSG 0-1 Bayern Münich

Former PSG man Coman scores the winning goal to help Bayern Münich win their 6th Champions League/European cup.

Once again a club making their first ever Champions League final are beat by a club that win the competition for a 6th time.

Bayern Munich had most of the possession, and showed grit and intensity to get over the line.

Lewandowski hit the post in the first half and rode their luck thanks mainly to great goalkeeping by captain Neuer either side of the Frenchman’s goal.

• The winning team keeps a clean sheet in the final for a second consecutive season – Liverpool did so by beating Spurs 2-0 in Madrid in 2019/20 – no other team had done so since Inter Milan did so in 2010.

• Bayern Münich scored 19 goals in 5 knockout matches (2 were over 2 legs) en route to winning the competition.

• Bayern Münich join Liverpool on 6 Champions Leagues/European Cups.

• A German manager wins the trophy for a second consecutive season (Flick in 2019/20 and Klopp in 2018/19).

• Bayern Münich, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea are the only clubs to have won Europe’s elite competition since Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan won the competition in 2010.

• Bayern Münich winning the match means no French club has won the competition since Marseille did so in 1993.
